LEMATCH Project

The LEMATCH project has developed a cross media sports production platform called CSP combining advanced imaging technologies with interactive programming devices and audio-visual broadcast technologies to deliver enhanced interactive mixed reality contents onto the Internet, mobile devices, analogue TV and IPTV.

With the help of the CSP platform, LEMATCH has developed five commercially viable formats, creating new forms of compelling cross media live and real-time content.

The main application areas are Basketball, Snowboarding, Javelin throwing and Soccer.

LEMATCH CSP Modules

LEMATCH CSP System Architecture

Focal area 1 is live basketball and soccer broadcasts via TV (analogue TV, IPTV), Internet (Broadband and Narrowband), Mobile (PDAs, cellular phones) and on-site installations (sports hall, stadium). Focal area 2 is (virtually) enhanced after match basketball reports and soccer reports. And focal area 3 is outdoor individual sports such as snowboarding and javelin throwing.

By providing both - a production platform and new media formats - LEMATCH assists in increasing the entertainment value of the (mobile) Internet and of (interactive, digital) TV, focusing on IPTV and mobile TV, opening up new sources of revenues and streamlining cross media production.

The LEMATCH CSP is especially suitable for producing and delivering adaptive interactive crossmedia live and real-time content plus additional user/viewer information.

It is largely based on mixing emerging imaging technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, visual simulation with proven audio-visual broadcasting techniques and interactive programming devices, thus adapting such mixed reality techniques for delivery onto TV, internet, mobile and on-site applications/installations.
