1st May 2006 LEMATCH to collaborate with TrackMen Ltd. from Germany to develop tracking solutions
Starting from 1st July 2006 the IST 511758 project LEMATCH will collaborate with German start-up TrackMen Ltd. to jointly develop and validate advanced tracking algorithms designed for sports applications and related live broadcasts.
TrackMen will co-operate with the LEMATCH partners Orad Hi-Tec Systems and wTVision to have their advanced tracking solutions work together with the powerful suite of Orad’s broadcast sports solutions and wTVisions Slide CG Suite.

LEMATCH will provide live demos of all developed broadcast formats in the project on www.lematch.org within one month after the official termination date of the project (31st December 2006).

30th November 2006 LEMATCH plans road show to present results in 1st and 2nd quarter 2007
LEMATCH plans to embark on a road show through Germany to present the developed LEMATCH formats, the LEMATCH CSP and the technology of the main external LEMATCH partners to representatives from the media industry, IT, the mobile industry and the advertising industry in the first and second quarter 2007.
The roadshow will cover at least 4 cities and will include cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Cologne. If you like to be part of the event, just send an email to the LEMATCH contact address and you’ll be getting all necessary information as soon as they become available.

30th October 2006 LEMATCH to work with GMIT GmbH from Germany and the international BMCO Forum
The IST 511758 proejct LEMATCH has selected German start-up GMIT GmbH to collaborate building 2 mobile TV DVB-H basketball formats. Format 1 is the broadcast of a first division of a basketball match in full length, Format 2 is a mobile studio production covering a full basketball matchday.
The project will make use of the Histv framework (www.histv.org) and a rapid development application framework for building mobile TV applications especiallly designed for developing local and return-path type of interactions synchronised with the video content.
Via this cooperation LEMATCH will also liaise with the BMCO Forum. The “Broadcast Mobile Convergence Forum” (bmcoforum) is an international organisation of companies targeting to shape an open market environment for mobile broadcast services.
The activities of bmcoforum are focused on driving and shaping the business value chain (necessary technical, economic and regulatory framework) needed for the development of an economically successful market for mobile broadcast services.
For its members, coming from the media and the telecommunications industry, bmcoforum constitutes a platform for promotion during the pre-commercial phase as well as a nucleus for joint future projects. For this purpose it promotes the exchange of business experiences between countries, companies and public institutions.

30th September 2006 LEMATCH selects the Düsseldorf LTU Arena as primary testing ground for its soccer format developments and tracking tests
The IST 511758 project LEMATCH has selected the Düsseldorf LTU Arena to extensively test the wireless tracking systems and services developed by the project and to build an IPTV and a broadband TV format covering the broadcast of a soccer match in full length and a studio show. Testing will take place from September 2006 onwards and will last until the end of December 2006.

31st August 2006 LEMATCH to work with Ensequence from the UK
The IST 511758 project LEMATCH has selected Ensequence from the UK and its range of products to assist in building the LEMATCH IPTV and broadband TV formats. Ensequence offers industry-leading software and services that enable advertisers, programmers and operators to quickly take interactive TV from concept to reality and engage today’s elusive viewers. LEMATCH will make use the Ensequence on-Create and on-Publish suites to build a range of live and on-demand sports formats.

The LEMATCH project gathers many leading players in broadcasting, sport and interactive technology, like NBC and Yahoo. The project developed a sports production platform for producing and delivering adaptive interactive cross media content with a focus on live and real-time content.

15th January 2006 LEMATCH Press Series to start at the end of January 2006
Starting in January 2006 LEMATCH will report on a monthly basis about the project results and attached issues in a series of press releases. Articles will be distributed via SportART'sa parent company ddp Deutscher Depeschendienst GmbH, the second largest news agency in Germany and the ddp PR channel. Press releases will be distributed via wire, e-mail/fax and Internet distribution. It will reach the editorial desks and content management systems of about 150 media outlets in Germany and abroad.
Any organization that also wishes to receive LEMATCH privileged information may subscribe by filling in the contact details on the LEMATCH website and sending it to the project.
The first topic to be dealt in January 2006 with by the project is "Object Tracking, Camera Tracking and Virtual Advertising in Live Sports Broadcasting". The second topic to be dealt with at the end of February 2006 is "Interactive sports format provisioning for analogue unidirectional TV devices, IDTV and IPTV devices".
